Well ladies, just heard that Polar Air Cargo is accepting resumes, send them to:
[email protected]

Good luck guys!

I just went to the career page of Polar's website, and they aren't listing any flightcrew openings. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I sent you a PM, maybe Polar has not updated the website as of yet....

Anyone have updated fax #'s for Polar? I believe they've completed the move from Long Beach. Also, anyone know who's heading up the pilot recruitment dept. since apparently Ron Carlson did not make the move to NY?

If you call
562-528-7333
the voicemail will forward your phone call to the New York office.

Thought Polar was ALWAYS hiring. Seems like they always have jobs posted on climbto350.com.

I have been languishing in thier "pool" since July. Empty promises about being in the next class only to have classes run without me. Nice that they move and not tell anyone that might be in their "pool" how or whom to contact.

Oh well. Back to Chautauqua I guess.

Hey md80,

I know how ya feel. Same stuff has been happenning to me since July. I heard they were calling people the last couple days for classes, so I called and left a message for Joe Massone to see what was up. He couldn't even call me back. Luckily, I got a call from AirTran today and wont have to wonder if Polar still likes me or not any more. Best of luck to ya, they said there will be 3 classes coming up, which should drain the pool.

Polar New Hire Class

FYI,

Polar just started a 400 new hire class on 3/24. I know someone in the class who interviewed in December. He told me they asked him to report on short notice (less than a week) and although his sequence in the pool was low, he was hired because he could report to training immediately. This happened to me also. I was low in the pool but was able to report to training on 4 days notice so I was hired.

Also, I interviewed in July and started in September so I'm not sure why anyone would be in the pool that long. There were also several classes in the classic/400 that started after me.

If you've been in the pool since July, perhaps your information has been misplaced. Polar has moved their headquarters from Long Beach to Purchase, NY so maybe your status has been overlooked as a result of the move.

Good Luck, N984TW

Virtually everyone hired by Polar in the past year has been furloughed. In my new hire class, 7 out of 8 people were furloughees. Polar is very receptive toward furloughed pilots because the turbojet experience generally dictates success during IOE.

The "official" policy toward furloughees is that a letter of resignation to the prior employer is submitted upon completion of IOE.

Is there any whipsaw between Polar and Atlas pilot groups? Which has the better contract?

What (if any) is the quality of life like? (Perfect for single guys, imminent divorce for married types?)

Pay scales?
