Anyone out there know the FAA's definition or job description of a POI (Principal Operations Inspector)?

If so post it or the link.

Thanks

What is it you want to know? The official Job description is not posted on a open fourm. This may help from a current position:

Duties: The Principal Inspector (Operations) Part 121[or135] functions as the primary operations interface between assigned air carriers/ air operations/air agencies/airmen/designees and the Federal Aviation Administration. Has program responsibility to assure that assigned organizations meet Federal Aviation Regulations with respect to operations programs. Determines the need for, and then establishes work programs for surveillance and inspection of assigned organization within manpower and budget limitations to assure adherence to the applicable regulations. The Principal Inspector will develop, administer, and enforce regulations and standards concerning civil aviation safety, including examining airmen (pilots, dispatchers, flight engineers, etc.) for initial and continuing qualification; evaluating airman training programs, equipment and facilities; evaluating the operations for adequacy of facilities, equipment, procedures; and, overall management to ensure safe operation of the aircraft. Investigates and reports on accidents, incidents, and violations. Under ATOS [part 121], inspector will collect and analyze data on various airline systems and aircraft types to target areas for improvement.

And then there is the: - And other duties as assigned....."

I like to refer to them as "point of impact" myself
