when you figure out the VNAV on that 737NG FMC let me know, with almost 1000 hours in the 737-800 Im still babysittin that thing on every decent....

It's a little quirky... apparently, not all 737-800's are the same. PMDG's FMC is programmed differently than the ones at ATA.

And, building a LNAV path doesn't work all that reliably.

I can't seem to get the database to recognize approaches, and I'm doing exactly what the PMDG instructions say.

So, the FMC is quirky, but flight dynamics are close to the real plane. If you have a fast computer with a high-end video card, you can actually practice some decent hand-flying, to keep that scan going.
