If you're going to become a Marine officer, it's a no brainer... the PLC program is the way to go.
As 46driver alluded to... you're going to make more money (beginning with your first paycheck and continuing throughout your career) than a guy who signs up for OCS after college or an acadmey grad.
Plus, you can attend your first increment (if you do OCS in 2 increments) and if you decide it's not for you you can walk away.
When I went through the PLC program I was able to get my private pilot's license and $100 per month (hopefully it's more now) courtesy of the USMC while in college (after attending my first increment of OCS). The private pilot was available for those with an aviation gurantee.
I don't know if those options are still available, but even if they aren't it's still the best way to go.
