I use one and it works pretty well. i have two custom earmolds, with a Y connector and tubing to the other ear. I put a slover of earplug in the drain tube and that blocks some noise.

overall, i'm glad i have it.

Hi,

Are some of you using the plantronics MS 50 in the CRJ/ what do you think of it?

I don't know what model # mine is, but I love it besides the fact in old planes and the 70 it picks up too much noise and makes it hard to hear. It drives some of my captain nuts. If you can get one that is not so sensitive they would be great.

I have been using the same MS 50 T30 for over 20 years with no failures. It has a round junction box just where the cord splits into two plugs one for the mike and the other for the sound. There is a jumper wire in the box that can be moved to different pins to change the db by + or - 10 db. This tailors it to work with most aircraft systems. It is comfortable and durable and has been produced for over 35 years. Plantronics will totally refurbish the unit for about $60 dollars for as long as you own the headset.

What does it change the DB of? The sensitivity of the mic or the volume of the speaker?

If memory serves correctly there is a jumper wire for both. It comes with preset at neutral so you can adjust up or down 10 db with each.

I have a little spoon shaped guard that works ok on the noise. If you're in the CRJ then just turn the intercom off
