Plantronics headset for CRJ?

Any suggestions?

I want the Plantronics headset for the CRJ, my Dave Clark is just too heavy, also I want the splitter to have it in both ears, I am kinda deaf, is the thing pretty loud?

Also what about the over the head thing vs. the ear only support option?

The Plantronics single piece lets in a LOT of ambient noise through the mic, despite a mic muff. I turn my intercom on when I'm talking and off when I'm not to cut down on it.

The Plantronics over-the-head ANR headset is nice, but I don't like over-the-head headsets, so I just deal with the noise...

If you are thinking about the plantronics headset, you should try the Telex 5x5 Pro. I had a plantronics and used it in the RJ. Lear70 is right, it lets in a lot of ambient noise and doesn't work as well. I traded mine back for a Telex 5x5. Where as the plantronics has th mic up in the body of the headseat piece up by the ear and a black hollow tub running down to catch the sound by the mouth, the Telex has the mic down by the mouth with a foam cover over it. It works much better in the RJ (opinion).
