This video brought back a few memories...

I went to an airshow while I was at college. The Marine Corps had a Harrier do a flight display. It was hovering just a few feet off of the ground in front of the grandstands where we were sitting when it had an engine failure. It made a hard landing and crumpled a few things. The pilot was OK.

accidentally operated the controls for throttle and nozzle direction lever at the same time causing it to drop like a stone.

I'm not sure how he could do that ? I mean the two levers are far enough apart and have a totally different shape to them have a look. err I take that back he was probably checking out the chics on the beach after all he was only a butter bar LT.
