Hmm, not too many people flying around here with the weather like it is. Saw a Baron gas up and take off from Erie this morning....hope it wasn't them.

I was in Omaha

I was at the Omaha airport at Elliot Aviation, where the gentleman was waitng for the arrival of his friends.

He said the pilot had just completed a day of ground school, and a day of training in the aircraft. The pilot had promised his friend the trip was not going to be a problem, because he would only fly the trip VFR. The weather in Ft. Collins at 11:55 AM was a few clouds at 2300 and a few at 2500, and good visibility.

We all think we are prepared for the emergencies, which seldom happen. But in fact, it is easy to become distracted. Without constant training for the unexpected, we are all vulnerable to these types of accidents.

It is very sad.... Our thoughts and prayers to there families and friends.
