Places to stay in FLL

I'm getting back from a deployment in a few weeks and want to take the wife somewhere for the weekend. FLL is an easy jump for us, so we're wondering if anyone knows a good hotel on the beach there. Preferrably a place that has a good resturaunt, bar, workout facility and not too expensive (if beggers can be choosers)...

Ft Myers and Tampa would also be options as well.

Check out the Amerisuites on 17th Street. It is right by the port and has access to some pretty good bars and restaurants. Five minutes to the beach. The Marriott next door is even better. Both have a crew rate last time I checked. However, that was over a year ago.
