Destin is nice and my favorite place to eat there is The Back Porch it’s just off the main strip beside the ocean. It’s a little on the costly side but I do recommend the spinach stuffed grouper order it every time I go....
After re-reading if you two can make it up towards the panhandle I would recommend the above.

@ VRB get a crew car, take a quick drive to the Riverside on the intercoastal. Best grouper sandwich around with great scenery.

Add "The Outer Marker Cafe" in Titusville/Space Coast Regional to the list. You can taxi right up the front door and sit in the screened-in porch by the taxiway and watch (and hear) all the planes while sipping on awesome milkshakes... Makes me crave it just thinking about it!

Okeechobee* also has a restaraunt, and it's pretty decent. Just watch out for the weirdo where spandex shorts and a pink skin tight shirt who fuels the planes when the self server aint working.
