Q. What is better more Total twin time. Or turbine time.

Q. What do Regionals perfer to see.

Thanks

most airlines have mins specified, and in years past when everyone was hiring like gangbusters, the multi time column was the important one. now, if you've got the minimum required multi time, and a bunch of turbine time to boot, even if it's single engine turbine, that would be a nice thing to see if i was doing the recruiting. then again, if i saw a guy with the minimum multi time and XX amount of turbine... and another guy with two or three times as much multi time but no turbine, i'd probably call the guy with more multi time in for an interview.

and yes, i agree, PIC time is what everyone wants to see. the above rambling is assuming all that multi or turbine time is PIC. i would think more multi engine pic time is better than the minimum required plus a bunch of sic turbine.

don't forget, the application gets you the interview... you get yourself a job by a successful interview, not a successful application. most airlines proclaim the mantra, 'we hire pilots, not logbooks.'

then again, i'm not in a position to recruit or interview, so the above is just my opinion. good luck, either way!

Thanks for the advice. Currently flying for a 121 operation on the CV-580 weighs in at 60k lbs. getting turbine SIC

How does this type of aircaft flown look to airlines.

Dude,

If your flying Turbine SIC for a 121 carrier that means you already went through a pretty demanding ground school and probably a good bit of expensive sim training.

That means alot. More than several hundred hours of PIC time in a piston twin accumulated flying under part 91. In my opinion..................

expensive sim training in a 580??? Sims weren't invented then, that airplane will be eligible for social security in a few years...the "sim" in a 580 is flying your IOE with freight.

What you'll need for a regional gig is total time and ME time. You're logging both. Way to go!!! Soon, you'll be qualified to pull down $20.00/HR in a 50 seat RJ liv'n the dream.

Seriously though, what you're logging is fine and dandy.

Tailwinds...:D

CV-580.. Can you fly PIC part 121 with a Comm/Inst? Thought an ATP was required?
OR, if you are F/O how do you log PIC ??
Comments anyone?

SE Turbine PIC will get you a job at the majors or regionals easy. Just ask any F-16 pilot.
