I think (at least a few years ago) that PIREP's had a valid time of up to three hours after the time of the observation.

I believe three hours is how long it stays in the system, but remember that it is a report at a given time. Its not a forecast so you can only take it for what it is. Also LewisU_pilot I have a couple questions for you if you don't mine. I'm thinking of applying to instruct there, and was wondering what type of aircraft do you have? How many airplanes approx.? and How many students are there, and do you know how many students most instructors have a semester? Any information you can provide would be helpful.

Thanks for the help...

Not sure if Lewis is hireing.. However here is a little 411
Last I checked Lewis has :

8 152s
8 172s
4 new 172Rs (kinda new i think they are 99s)
3 182RGs
1 PA44-180

I think we have gotten a couple new 52s and 82s this last year.

CFI 10 full time students
7:30am-5:30pm M-Sat
I could get in more detail about pay and benefits but I'm not sure if my info is correct anymore. A lot has changed with our school these last couple years. If you have any more questions drop me an email at [email protected]. I can also let you know who to get a hold of. Maybe even give you my name as a reference =)
