I know that pinnacle is only going to get 20 or so more planes. Just curious how long does the company plan to upgrade pilots. Or how long do the pilots that work for pinni think up grades will continue. I am working at a 121 airline now (not GIA, I'm not a wonder kid), just wondering if its a good idea to bail to get a faster upgrade, or stay with my current 8yr up grade.

Oh boy here we go agian, it seems about every week or so, some guy with only one or two posts will ask about Pinnacle or GIA to start the mud slinging again!!! I'm sure if you do a seach you will find the answer to your questions!!

Let me know if thats actually true, as I have my CA bid in for all three bases and I have the time......but no call yet for the upgrade...

Sorry Parrot, In all my excitement I forgot to answer the question. For FO's it seems to be moving to Detroit as senior, Memphis then Minny....but I think that could go back and forth between Detroit and Memphis. For CA Memphis is senior....then I'm really not sure about the other two...

As for Street Captains, not happening. They are now hiring more "Captain Qualified" individuals, and with Indy Air the way it is they will probably have quite a few CQ guys in the ground schools from now on. Last Captain Vacancy went down to 957. I believe #1000 is close to finishing training, and that should go out to about 1075 or so currently in training. There are only a few people from that 957 to the end of the list that are qualified, however every month senior FO's are getting their time in, so you might see a few (very few) quick upgrades, but most will have a sit.

Well thanks for the info. I guess my coworker will be in for a rude awakening. Hope it's not too bad. Take 'er easy guys!!

Suuuuurrrrre there's no street captains coming... I don't know why people don't listen, the math isn't that hard to do.

For those who believed street captains aren't happening / weren't going to happen, Lo and Behold the secondaries from vacancy 04-11:

5 Street Captains (NHT) for Detroit, effective April 1st, training slots in Feb and March.

Additionally, 34 alternates listed, only 3 of which are seniority list pilots, the other 31 list NHT for the next Capt vacancy (which should be out in about two weeks for a May effective date). We're taking 4-5 aircraft per month now instead of 2-3 because of the additional 10 we were given from NWA, so that's AT LEAST 20-25 Captains needed per month just to keep up through July.

Also, we DO have 3 Street Captains that finished OE in the last 90 days and are online - they were yanked from F/O classes and "upgraded" in the middle of their class - never sat a day as an F/O - makes them street captains in my book.

I'm sure the 5 new street captains will come from existing new-hires already in class who will be "upgraded" before they ever start sims, and congrats to them. The next 15-20 we'll see on the next vacancy? Don't know, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see nothing but high time interviews for the next month or two knowing full well they'll be hired as "captains" (unofficially).

Don't shoot the messenger...
