Got an interview with both, I'll probably go to both for the experince, which is the better deal considering:

a. Upgrade
b. QOL
c. Chance of not getting furloughed.

Thanks

Neither is necessarily a really good choice right now. Both ASA and PCL are in negotiations right now and could see a strike in the next couple of years. I'll let the ASA guys speak to their quality of life, but I can tell you that QOL at PCL isn't that great. The pay is even worse. Upgrade at both airlines will be quite a while. I estimate at least a 5 year upgrade for newhires at PCL right now. If I had to choose, I'd probably go with ASA unless you want to live in one of PCL's hubs. (MSP, DTW, or MEM) Good luck with the decision.

QOL: ASA... Pinnacle is the said to be the Jet version of great lakes.

Upgrade: Pinnacle? Quick upgrades come and go there. No more jets coming in the forseeable future since Mesaba is getting the next batch. Have had some recent street captains but probably not gonna happen for a while. There are gonna be ex. ACA/Indy guys above you at both places. ASA stand in line and wait like everyone else.

Furlough: Who knows with this industry. My guess is you will be ok at both places.

Dont work at either place but friends at Pinnacle say company treats you like dirt. Esp. when on reserve. Last I heard no pay for training, but have heard rumors of that changing.

Good Luck!

PNCL is now paying 200/week during training if that helps. Upgrading is an unknown and really depends on your total time.

Do both interviews and see what your options are afterward. You may have a different perspective on both in a few weeks.
