9E pilot group, 9E management, XJ pilot group, XJ management, all puppets on a string being played by the puppet master, NWA and its pilot group. 9E time to go out and find new work………

NWA: Hey Phil, leave the keys to all our planes and gates on the way out.

9E: Now just wait a minute, Jim.

Your right they are yours. Have fun flying them, and you'll have to. Really cheap to. Cause if you don't SWA will eat your lunch.

Hey Lear69,

Still haven't answered by ORIGINAL question, where was PNL's 20% over XJ's contract in 2000. Let's here it big talker.

Permanent Furlough = FIRED

PCL didn't need an alter ego/Bigsky carrier to threaten us during our last contract talks. Mesaba was doing just fine decimating our company all by themselves. We had two options during our '99 negotiations.

1) Accept a contract with significant gains from the current agreement.
2) Have NW cut up what was left of our company and sell it to Mesaba.

We chose the first of these options.

Again... for your learning impaired reading pleasure: I wasn't here, don't know why the group here signed what they did, but I would rather shut this fu*ker down and go back to charter than agree to more of the same. I'm sure some of my coworkers feel differently, just as I know some feel the same. It's a long road to go still...

Permanent Furlough = FIRED
Idiot.

"Training's" daily instruction: Permanent Furlough means the company ceased operations and put EVERYONE on permanent furlough rather than stating they're "fired" for the benefit of their records. Ever heard of Express One International? U.S. Postal Service Contract illegally single-sourced to FedEx in mid 2001? Company furloughed half of the seniority list immediately but stayed in business long enough to finish C-Net (Christmas rush) and collect on the contract termination lawsuit then shut the doors, effectively furloughing everyone else?

If it doesn't ring any bells, don't stress. You were probably too busy flying your Microsoft Flight Sim 2000 to worry about little things like understanding the industry.

Come on Dointime

Like Mesaba had anything to do with taking the flying. You make it sound like it was XJ's effort. Wrong. I was just trying to make a point that we had no intentions of undercutting PNL on this last contract. Like some else said earlier, we had other fish to fry.

If you were refering to Mesaba pilots having anything to do with the transfer of Express flying to Mesaba, I agree with you. Mesaba management though played a big part in that shell game though. Not everything is about the pilots you know.

Mesaba doesn't have any management. Pinnacle doesn't either. Everyone on XJ BOD is a big wig NWA guy or someone put there by NWA. I would venture to guess that is the case at your outfit as well. NWA is the management.

They ain't mine. I'm just saying that 9E will work only for NWA, or until NWA says that they can do something else.

Dodge,

I think your very right about the management thing. We as pilots and our mec's don't even know who the other side really is......

Lear69,

Why wouldn't you want to go back to charter? You were making $90,000 a year flying 727s. Sounds like a good job.
Because the only thing NOT on my resume was PASSENGER Part 121 PIC jet time and I decided that checking that box at $60k a year with a schedule was better than $90k a year flying Lears being on-call 24/7 again and would look better for future interviews.

Kinda funny that a company that you worked for went out of business. Were you a tool there too? Can't wait to see PNL get XJ + 20% on the next contract! Good thing they have you; noone wants their company burned down!
I'm sure the other 250+ pilots and prof engineers from EOI aren't nearly as amused as you are at having the rug pulled out from under them with no safety net. Some of them never got back into aviation and they were some of the best pilots I've had the honor of flying with so I'm not especially happy with your "amusement" at our disfortune either. I was very "lucky", as I have always covered my bases and had a "backup plan"; this was it and I am one of the lucky few who can say I had an aviation job during what will HOPEFULLY be the worst downturn in aviation history, as I hope it never gets this bad again.

In the same token, now that I'm here I plan to use my time wisely and effectively to not only better my own living situation, but help rally my coworkers to help raise the bar for our segment of the industry. You're either on board or you're not... and I think we know where you stand, Training.

Millitant and Proud!

DoubleDumbass, take a look at airlinpilotcentral.com and see for yourself what the typical contract cargo 727 captain makes. $90,000 is average if not a little on the low side.

Of course, it doesn't matter because we all know that you are just the next Rhoid/TRAINING/8HRWHORE. Don't you have anything better to do with your time than post flamebait on this board. What a loser.

Hey PNL 128, how much Multi time do you have??? And let me guess, you think disfortunate is a word too.

About 2500 hours multi. In other words, about 100 times your IQ. Have a nice night Rhoid.

When a flamebaiiter is out-debated, he/she ALWAYS results to mud slinging. A pity they have no better hobbies.

This thread pretty much sucked anyway, might as well let it die PCL, arguing with an idiot is never a winning proposition.

Off for four days, time to go work on the boat! :D
