Anywhere as long as its DTW, MEM, or MSP. All three regularly go to new hires.

That's Lauren Bush. She's a model (some say a super one at that) and is W's niece. Think she's the fruit of Jeb's loins if I'm not mistaken. I've got a thing for Barbara. She's the chick I would try to work on at a party. At the end of the night when I'm drunk and even more pathetic, I suppose I would end up with Jenna.

C-5 MEM, how can you afford to go to work for Pinnacle? I looked into it a couple of years ago and there was no pay for a couple of months of training, then around $18k per year. I couldn't feed myself not to mention my family on their payscale.

I was just wondering where the JR Fo's were going. I am on active duty with the military and make more money than any regional Capt right now.

I wasn't casting stones. I left the military in 2000 and went to NWA. My education in regional pay came once I was furloughed in 2002. It was a shock to learn how little most regional FO's are paid (and how poorly they are treated). I enjoy flying, but I couldn't make ends meet for long on Pinnacle FO pay, so I'm falling back on my degree and working as a mechanical engineer.

My brother is still a pilot on active duty and it looks like he'll just stay to 28 or 30 years and run up his retirement. In his shoes (or yours) I think I would be doing the same thing.

I'm glad to hear that active duty military pilots are making $130K+ per year making them higher paid than "any regional Capt" right now. You guys deserve it!! Thanks for your service towards our great country. I'm glad my six figures + was less than what you full time military guys are making. Just wouldn't seem right for me to be making more than you guys.

I think you have the high ground on pay, even with an annual bonus I don't think I ever made much more than 100k. And you're doubled my current pay as a mechanical engineer. But please don't dump on all military pilots until you've walked in their shoes.

I spent years living in tents, up to 12 months once without seeing my family. Forced to eat MRE's (or worse) forever, taking cold showers and the only fun I had was flying the F-16 only to be shot at. During my time in the Air Force I buried 11 close friends who were either killed in training or combat, and everyone left behind a widow and small children. So I do agree with you, the military pilots...all military personnel, deserved to be paid much better.

I feel blessed to be setting at home with my family while so many are stuck in an unending rotation of tours to Iraq. Have a great day,

Jimbo, I'm not dumping on military pilots. I think it is great that they are making the big bucks that C-5 MEM is boasting about. That is all I was saying. I know nothing about military pilot pay and I am happy about the fact that they are making over six figures because they deserve all of that and more. When I have military service personell on my flight I always try to get them upgraded and I go out of my way to personally thank them for their service. I am glad to hear the active duty pilots are making more than any regional captain. Thats the way it should be.

Sorry, I thought you were being sarcastic.

Most of the military is underpaid. I started as a 2nd Lieutenant at less than $20k, it probably took me 14 years to break 60k and I only came close to 100k for two years due to a large retention bonus. Everyone pays their dues, in the military it's moderate pay, long seperations from family and sometimes putting your life on-the-line. In the civilain aviation world it seems to be lower pay, longer hours and a great deal of time away from family.

I'm impressed with 130k pay. With the direction many of the majors are headed I can see why so many are looking at RJ captain as a final stop in this job market.

No problem Jim. To clarify, I'm not making 130K per year. If I was topped out at my company thats what I would have made. A lot of regionals have senior guys topped out around the 130K range and I personally know a few of them. I am disappointed to hear the truth on how little military pilots make. I felt better believing that they were making more than regional captains. I guess the sad truth is that most military pilots make much less than most regional captains. Not sure where C-5 MEM got his #'s from?

My six figures is not always that. I get it when I get my haz. pay and tax free. Its not all fun and gravy.

You know its funny. A reporter asked one of our crew memebers what he is worried about most. He said the people back home.

Ahhhh, yes, she's the one I saw in Jon Stewart's book. Didn't know anything about her before a week ago.
