Pinnacle Airlines, Delta Reach Agreement

Existing Contract to Remain in Effect

updated 1 hour, 24 minutes ago

MEMPHIS, TN - Pinnacle Airlines Corp. (NASDAQ: PNCL) reported today that its Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. subsidiary will continue to fly for Delta Air Lines as a Delta Connection carrier under its existing contract, which expires in 2017. Delta previously served notice that it intended to terminate the contract, effective July 31.
"We have tremendous respect for the people at Delta," said Phil Trenary, Pinnacle Airlines Corp.'s president and chief executive officer. "Our discussions with them were amicable and we were able to resolve the issues at hand. We look forward to building on our hard-earned reputation for operating a safe, reliable and cost-effective airline to serve what will soon be the largest air carrier in the world."
Pinnacle entered into an agreement with Delta in April 2007 to operate 16 CRJ-900 aircraft as a Delta Connection carrier and began operations under the agreement in December. Pinnacle has already taken delivery of nine of the 16 CRJ-900 aircraft on order. As part of the resolution between the parties, the in-service dates of the remaining seven aircraft will be deferred until between January and May 2009. The 76-seat CRJ-900 NextGen jet has operating costs that are the lowest among comparably sized regional jets, providing for an economic, efficient aircraft in the Delta network.

There must have been some major a$$ kissing and hollow promises handed out in that meeting. Does Pinnacle still have to live up to performance? (This can't be good for Comair.)

Last I heard there was a 3 month extension. All of a sudden Delta says, ".... what the heck, you guys are a good business partner and don't worry about the extension." That is not a characteristic of Delta.

The agenda in progress is not the one made public.

Now all they need to do is give you a decent pilot contract.

flyer1015, did I not just read comments on another thread from you talking ******************** about our pilots in ATL going the extra mile?

... only for attitudes that it's "arrogant and pride issues" for those who "don't want to help the company." These people do not care for getting a new contract, and gave into Phil T's and Delta's threats of us losing flying.

History repeats itself. Someone on our Pinnacle board posted a story about how Anderson was at NWA one time, and took flying/planes away from Mesaba to pressure them into signing a new crappy contract.

I was just saying it seems weak to see some 9E guys (not surprisingly, MEM Captains) try and sound ultra-pro-company.

I'm willing to bet Pinnacle now gets paid a lot less with their contract "extension". Kind of like what XJT did with DAL in LAX.

Good luck, considering CS was saying a contract was 30 days away back in August of '06.

Ok boys and girls. Time to buck up. How much you gonna keep flyin those 90 seaters for???

We got an arbitrated rate. It's not the best, but it's certainly MUCH better than the company proposal. It's more or less on par/industry average for 76 seat pay.
