Hey if you fellas are happy with the status quo at Pinnacle, then more power to you...I, for one, think your contract has JUST A LITTLE room for improvement. But I dont work there so what do I know (or care?). Just make sure you stop that ever present "race to the bottom" and make the rest of us proud.

whatever

Amen.. although there are alot of good people at 9E. Its a shame to see a managment so out of control.

BTW Ken, I was the jumpseat to LSE that you told this story to... didnt know you were on here.

Yup.....

You fags have really became desperate, talking about W-2's and Fa's.

I made just over $41,000 as a 2-3 year FO at a payrate average of $26/hour. That was without any retro pay either!

I'm calling BuIIshist on this one. At $26 per hour you would have to average over 130 credit hours per month. I have had my share of 120-130 hour credit months but it can't be done month after month after month for a whole year. Samething with your claim to make over 90K while only making $60 per hour. You would have to average 125 credit per month. I have a few friends at 9E and with no premium pay and no min day and no block or better there is just no way in Heck that you can average that kind of credit (125-130) hours per month for an entire year.

I would bet that your friends have yet to pull the shrink wrap off of their copy of the contract.

It just floors me that 9E guys don't think their airline has a problem.

"Oh, well! Just status quo."
"Everyone's doin' it! I mean crashing, that is."

These posts just make 9E look more incompetent. Hubris will lead to your undoing as a air carrier, plain and simple.

You sure are a classy guy. It's amazing you can fit your big head through the cockpit door. Seems to me that YOUR own posts make YOU look more incompetent; spoken like a true "Holier than thou" Mesaba pilot!

You have two posts, one you say you're an fo and the other you say you're a capt, which is it?

Sounds like b******* 2 me.

I don't know, could be just brainstorming here, but MAYBE THE GUY JUST UPGRADED??!!

Use your head... jeez.

Incidentally, with the limited "soft credits" I'm getting here at PCL, I'm going to be pushing about $85k for the year on Year 4 pay and get about 200 hours of credit on top of my block for the year, averaging 13 days off. I've been averaging about 95 hours of block and 110 hours of credit per month and don't expect that to change anytime soon. Would the "soft credits" that MSA has be nice? sure, but I'm not going to give up the ones we have, especially since our CURRENT contract allows us to time out and I WILL time out around mid-November and get a nice 5 or 6 week paid vacation over the holidays as a MEM CA.

Good Job Lear 70 on working hard during the year to get some paid vacation over the holidays. Is PCL management doing anything to have enough flight crews to staff the airline over the holidays this year or will it be another blunder?

as just shy of a 4 yr CA.. I am on board for the mid to high 70's.. The numbers they are quoting are reasonable. As an FO I would have been able to get 40K if I busted my a$$.. but 17 days off was much better

I'd count on a blunder, but personally.. before the holiday's... I'd be surprised if we will make it through the summer without having cancellations for lack of crews...

Flight Crews at 9E

What I see and i am no expert is that Scheduling have no plan in place to ensure that when crews time out either 30/7 or 1000 per year that we dont end up chasing around or crewing the plane with way too junior pairings.. I am fairly new but it appeared that in Nov/Dec it got tough for the group to crew planes..

Ken, you really picked a great avatar for yourself. Your mental capacity truly rivals that of Homer Simpson.

Actually, I consider myself an average pilot; human, fallible, but able to admit wrongdoing. Ask anyone that has flown with me what I end my crew briefs with -

"Please let me know if I'm doing something stupid, I'm thick skinned, you won't hurt my feelings."

I have never stated that I was superior to any aviator at 9E, I'm simply stating the facts. Air Force One pilots make mistakes, because they are human, it's how those mistakes are managed to minimize risk that makes the difference. The system at 9E doesn't work, and what irritates me is that the representatives of this board think otherwise. By system I mean 9E as a whole, ie. management, training/standards, corporate culture, etc.

I ask you this-

Do you think 9E has a problem?
If not, what do you attribute the recent mishaps to? (ie. FL410, MKE, Helena)
If so, what do you think it is?
What type of recommendations would you give to correct these problems?
Have you shared your recommendations with management or your MEC?

This is my last post regarding this topic, because I'm beating a dead horse. If you don't think 9E has a problem, I can't change your mind.

...at least mine doesn't indicate I'm a crook.....whats it like dointime?

....just don't pick up the soap! unless ...of course you are somones b**ch!

I see nothing's changed here. W-2 comparisons, 9E this and that, "your english is horrible" accusations, my Dad could kick your Dad's a$$, etc.

Bottom line - Ken is still wrong.

This board is just wrong about 9E

I've read a whole lot of bull*hit about 9E training, and let me say its bull. I have flown at 4 airlines and currentley a CA at 9E, and have seen problems at all 4. And I do have the qualifications to justify my response. I am typed on 5 aircraft, flown A-4 Skyhawks USMC and am real tired of the bashing going on about 9E. Training Dept's have flaws everywhere, or flying would be a perfectly safe job. Its up to us pilots to keep the right side up, and as far as I can see so far 9E pilots are as well trained as any other airline that I have flown. Yes there are always pilots that slide through, but no more than anywhere else. Brothers lets not bash each other, but the real issues that drive us apart.

Very true. Everyone also needs to keep in mind that MOST XJ and MOST 9E guys are decent people. These webboards tend to bring out the extremest of the pilots in either camp. I also don't let a few 9E guys speak for the whole group. For instance, the guy I met today commuting who told me that I should upgrade to the CRJ when they arrive at XJ because our SF340 pay is "so low". He kept asking how much an hour I make and how much my W2 said. He seemed very interested in letting me know what he made and trying to compare it to my SF340 rate.

He probably had to compensate for other 'shortcomings' dude. Don't sweat it.

Pre-internet, we used to have "Cherry Blossoms" catalogs (Phillipine mail-order brides) sent to David White's home address in Memphis. Pretty sure his wife intercepted at least one of them.

She probably wondered if he was looking for a lover or just a snack (9E inside joke)
