Folks, it's time for WAR!!!!

We have been sitting around griping long enough about low wages and unfair work rules. It is now time to grab your balls and ask yourselves if your just irrelevant complainers who just talk the talk, or if you have the backbone it requires to take the necessary action required to make this life better. It's far easier to bend over and take concessions then cry in your soup and whine on message boards. Let's take action, NOW!!!

There is only ONE solution to getting rid of the low pay for regional airline pilots. The solution is a massive STRIKE!!!! Yes, I'm talking about all the regional pilot unions getting organized together and leading a collective effort to establish a minimum pay rate that is resonable to all. If we consolidate, we will have the power to change this industry for the better. And out with the nay-sayers. If your union reps just want to hide and save their seniority number then vote them OUT!! Send them packing!!!

Of course there will be bloodshed, massive disruption in the system, and lives temporarily disrupted......casualties of war. Unfortunately, this is the consequence of Liberty and Justice for all. You all want better pay, then you need to get off your rear ends and start doing something about it (I'm talking to you ACA and CHQ pilots, et al). Mesa already sold their souls to the devil, but fortunately it's not to late for them to redeem themselves.

It's time to get your affairs in order and head out to the battle fields. It's time to STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's with me?

I've been waiting for ALPA...

To actually be a union instead of an association. Ever since Hank Duffy failed to act on security and drug testing in the early '80's, ALPA has done jack-**** on the really big issues.

Today, pilots should take to the streets over executive compensation, low pay for regional pilots(which is what we will all be soon anyway) and alter-ego non-union airlines. ALPA represents the vast majority of this country's pilots and would get the remainder on board if they finally acted like a union.

Either a line is drawn soon or we might as well all become "independent contractors" and save our dues money.

Sad situation.TC(ALPA member 1987-2002 and probably never again...)

Wishful thinking

This would be great but it's all wishful thinking!

I worked for a cargo airline that had a lot of pilots without any balls. If the company told them to do something illegal they would fuzz about it with the F/O's and other non-management guys, but would never say anything to management about it; they would just do as told. These guys were affraid of loosing there jobs and did anything asked of them.

No one would stand up, so when I stood up and spoke for everyone I suddenly found myself furloughed and not a single person came to my assistance.

This airline whom I speak of is full of scared pilots and I was used as an example.

These guys are now facing a 5% pay cut, pay freeze, annual bonuses abolished and the suckiest schedule ever known to man.

On top of that the F/O's are being replaced by PFTers.

I would love to see pilots come together and help each other out, but my experience has shown that pilots just look out for themselves. It's sad, but true.

I wish there was a national pilots union that would assist all pilots in all facets of aviation (charter, cargo, regional, major, etc...) but that's just a pipe dream.

I can't believe pilots put up with these lousy schedules, and salaries. It makes me sick!

72 longhorn,

There is a thread entitled "shady operators". Can you copy your post there?

Hate to burst your bubble, but pilot unionism in the airline industry is all but dead. Any thoughts of "unity" are all false bravado. The senior guys would sell their grandmother to keep another dollar in their W-2. Sad, but true.

Well buddy, I am doing my part, I am reducing the available supply of pilots by one. You guys can have all the fun, and I will make all the money...

Make it two Bart. I'd love to fly an RJ, but I'll be d@mned if I'll do it for 19k. I'll stick to a little learjet with 3x the salary and, let's see...,it looks like 7 days off this week. :D
