pilots suspended for raising safety concerns?

'Swiss' suspends, reviews skills of 52 pilots who questioned cockpit safety

BASEL (AFX) - Swiss International Air Lines said it has disciplined and
suspended 52 pilots who fly for its Saab 2000 operations after they
questioned cockpit safety levels in a letter to management.

The carrier also hired experts to review the pilots' flying ability.

'Following a positive assessment of their flying skills, these pilots will
be re-integrated into flight operations,' the airline said in a statement
issued overnight.

Swiss said it will do all it can to minimise the impact of the decision on
flight operations.

'While Swiss takes the statements made in the letter seriously, the safety
of its Saab 2000 operations out of Basel is guaranteed at all times,' it
added.

The Saab 2000 operation comprises 72 pilots staffing a fleet of seven
aircraft out of Basel.

So, 52 of 72 pilots were suspended for raising safety concerns?

How can you say that?

Yes.
Humor is wasted on fools.
Personally, I never call a man "fool" when he's carrying an automatic weapon. :(

So the professional pilots are waiting for a review whereas those pesky unsafe rogue pilots are still working, keeping their airline going. Kudos to those rogue pilots.

Actually, it was humor back at ya...

You were saying the other 20 pilots didn't know any better. I was saying that they evidently knew enough, to not be in the pool of pilots that is getting "re-calibrated".

I don't know what the real story is over there and other than a few experienced Euro's on this board, I doubt most of us here know either. However, You'd think that with more than three fourths of the pilots pitching a biatch about safety, that the government would be interested in what Paul Harvey calls, "the rest of the story."
