The question is:_ Who on god's green earth, with even half a brain
left, would volunteer to spend their lives and careers in this
sort of environment?_

So… what is your point, humor?

The days of free love died the day someone discovered AIDS…

The days of our blasé, happy-go-lucky attitude towards security died the day Arab Muslim Extremist slammed two planes into the WTC, one into the Pentagon, one into a field in PA and declared war upon us.

The world has changed my friend, for better or worse it has changed.

Hippie

PS A couple of those points don't actually jive, # 9 is about to change in the future, 13, 14, 15.

Visual recordings? What company do you work for?

I think 350driver is trying to tell us all that we need to stand up for ourselves as pilots. If we don't stand up for ourselves and represent our profession with respect then we may end up like prisoners in a way. With airlines out there like Freedom undercutting our industry pilots need to speak out and get the pay that they deserve. ALPA is trying to create jobs and stop the undercutting of the industry. As for some pilots and their alcohol abuse that is their own fault. It's a shame that a couple of bad eggs made us look bad when they tested positive for alcohol before a flight. The industry is going through a great deal of change right now and times are tough. Pilots need to work together to help this industry get back to where it was. Hopefully pilots will one day soon get back the wages and respect they deserve. I know many retired pilots and I see what a great lifestyle they are living now. Flying is still a great way to earn a living........Let's keep it that way.

Literalists

Dontchyall think yer taken it a little too literally?

There's no way anybody could *seriously* compare being an airline pilot to being a prisoner.

I mean, it's not like we're locked up in little tiny rooms with virtually no room to stretch our legs for inordinate periods of time...sheesh...that would be cruel and usual.

C'mon guys lighten up...or did our sense of humor die on our first day of groundschool.
