Pilot with a FE looking for a job

Just looking for info. I retire from the USMC is June, and I am looking for ANYTHING. I have 420 hrs, with 60 ME. I have my CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, and Turboprop FE, and A&P.

Where can I go? I don't mind instructing at all, but what after that. I have over 6000hrs C-130 time, but I can't count any of that time.

Any info is appreciated.

See if you can get in flying jumpers in a 182/206...then work on that multi time a little bit, by getting checked out in a Multi rental plane or club. As your times come up, start looking for dropzones that have turbine equipement and try to mooch your way in there. Eventually you will be able to get on with some 135 operation flying turbine twins and recip twins as PIC.

You may have to work a part time day job while time building, even though you are drawing a pension, but that's the nature of being low time.

What do you want to do, Bert?

You might look into Lynden Air Cargo. They fly l-100's so you'd be a good fit for an FE slot there. I understand they like to hire experienced FEs. That is, provided you'll be satisfied being an FE. If you're interested in becoming a pilot, that might not be a good choice. I understand that they no longer are interested in moving fes into pilot positions. Again, this is just wahat I've heard. I know a couple of guys flying for them, so my info is relatively direct, but things change, they might have a different view on that. Either way, it's probably worth looking into.

Check out www.jsfirm.com
They have a page for C-130 jobs, all flight crew positions. I think it was all in Saudi Arabia, might not be what you're after, but maybe it will help. Good luck!
