Just wondering how the tax situation is for pilots.
OK first this is assuming for all the following questions:
1 A US based airline
2 A US citizen
3 Living in the US

Which taxes are you responsible for if:
1 You are based in the same city you live in?
2 You are based in a different county in the same state?
3 You are based in a different state?
4 You are based in other than a US state (i.e. Guam, Puerto Rico ect.)?

Is there a best way to do things?

Not sure about US Providences, but the other questions would fall in the US Rail Road Act. You can be based anywhere in the US but, you pay tax in the state you reside in. Places like NY will take out a $1 for their state funded disability, but if you are based in NY and lets say you live in GA, then you will pay tax on your income in GA.

I believe that Local (or County as you are indicating here), will work the same way. If you want to avoid the State or Local Tax then commute out of FL or TX where there is no State Tax.

PM me if you need further assistance.
