Anyone have any experience with this headset?

I am considering the purchase of one now that I am instructing full time. A instructor of mine has one and loves it, but he is the only one that I have seen using this headset. So I am looking for some other opinions.

I've had one for about two years. I love it. The ANR is good. It's tough, and I love the rechargeable battery. I had one of the ANR speakers freak out recently and they fixed it and had it back to me in a couple of days - I think that there is a 5 year warranty. If you do get it, I would highly reccomend the gel seals. I have used both the standard seals and the gel seals and the gels are worth the extra money. I find it very comfortable and I think that the sheepskin pad on the top is a very nice feaure. I've had some people try mine that have said that they don't like that it isn't adjustable, but I have only heard good things from people who actually own one.

To be honest, I am surprised that this isn't a much more popular headset. They don't advertise much, maybe that's why.

Good luck whatever you decide

I hated this headset. Although it was super comfortable and very quiet, it was too quiet. The ANR would not only cut out outside aircraft noises, but it would also cut out ATC to the point it was dangerous.

I called the Pilot company and spoke to the owner about it and he was a huge a$$hole. He totally disrespected me to the point where he was calling me names.

In my opinion, and my opinion only: DO NOT BUY FROM PILOT AVIONICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had mine for about 3 years... The best ANR I have ever used. I even own one of the 17-75's and that one is decent too.

Personally for props, you cannot get much better unless you go to a Bose X. Check the db's and compare Pilot Avionics to others, they tend to have the best numbers in the ANR field.
