Anyone with a membership have any info on the Pilatus F/O job that was posted on the 18th. or 19th?

I assume it's with Westward Airways, but curious if it is with someone else.

Thanks man. I know they've been advertising quite a bit on 350 to try and get pilots. I sent my info in, but couldn't get any feedback on pay, qol etc. That, and they want like 1200TT for an F/O on a PC-12, and I only don't have it, though they said they would look at an F/O with 1000TT.

Oh well. They'll have to lower the standard I think, cause obviously, they aren't getting what they're looking for if they have to keep advertising.
 
They want 1200 hours to fly as an F/O on a single engine airplane that does not require an F/O?! Anyone with 1200 hours can land a job with a regional and build better quality flight time. Unless pay or QOL is great, why would any 1200 hour pilot sign up for that gig?
 
FWIW, Just got a call from Westward, they are offering $1800/month for FO, with medical, dental, and vision. CA's start at $30k+ /year.

You can't log sic time in the PC-12 since it doesn't require one. So if your looking to build time then this is not the place to be.
 
You can log SIC time in a PC-12 just like you can in a Caravan.

That's not the case with our Caravan FO's. All of them upgrade when they have the to bigger aircraft at our airline and others.

They learn more real world stuff flying with us than they would flight instructing.

If it's a requisite for your company, then I can see the value of the FO time in order to upgrade, especially if you're doing bush flying and teaching them the ins&outs of the various strips. As far as right-seaters logging SIC time with the hopes of using it for a future non-Caravan job... Good Luck.

Depends on where they would've instructed. The things I learned as a CFI,II,MEI in the area around KLAX have proven invaluable in my career, first as a PT135 King Air captain and now as a PT91 jet captain. FWIW, my best friend & mentor in aviation was once a 'Van SIC flying in the "real world". He was also an excellent CFI. He's in school now getting trained to fly a large jet. I'm going to ask him which of the experiences he's found more helpful in his career.

I have a lot of respect for you Caravan captains that are flying day and night in every type of weather. It was a challenge in the BE20. I can't imagine what it's like in an unpressurized, marginally de-iceable 'Van.
 
Its lots of fun. But our guys do go on to other companies also and I have never heard of one of them being questioned about their time or about it not being respected.

I learned a lot from being a CFI, but the first thing I learned when I started 135 was that I didn't know near as much as I thought I did.
 
Its a good place to work. You're home every night, schedule is pretty light and eventually, you will move to the left seat. More money than most commuters to begin with. Good place for a CFI who is looking to move on from instructing into a 135 environment. Training is great, CP and DO are great people. Any hint of a problem with weather and/or maintenence and you don't go. Maintenance is probably the best for any PC12 operator in the country. In this industry and at this time, any job like this is a good job.
 
Two versions...the 10 seater, but no p[lace for bags. Mostly 9 with a place for about 450 lbs of bags.
