A Saab won't carry much off a 4300' runway. Its TO speeds are 20 to 30 knots faster than the Dash.

Didnt they try the XJ Saabs for a little while in HXD after the departure of ASA ATRs?

Some of the SAAB 340Bs were moved to the Atlanta hub for the smaller feeder routes previously operated by ASA's ATR 72s which were phased out. Mesaba operated the type from ATL to Florence, SC and Hilton Head Island, SC but this service was discontinued on November 1, 2010. The runway at HHH was only 4,300 feet long and Delta was restricted to selling only 21 of the 34 seats making it uneconomical to operate the type on the HHH route.

We (Silver) go into and out of EYW all the time.

4300 is short but do-able.
