How sad, Is this to somehow imply that $5,000 will make up for their severe defficiency in their first year pay? I gues it might seem attractive to the "uneducated"Piedmont is offering 5,000 Dollars! After you finish training 2500.00 dollars, and after you get thru your First CQ anther 2500.00 dollars!
I'm looking forward to the challenge and the fun of turboprop flying. It'll be tough, but I know I'll get through it. Not sure how accurate it is, but John Buchanan said they only had 1 person fail with the new AQP training. Anyone know anything more about that?
Not true. Unless "new" AQP means this week.

Cost of Living. That $24/hr (or there abouts) won't go too far if you're living in a base like LGA. All first year Regional pay scales (save for Horizon, which is getting warmer) suck. To the one guy who said that he knows turbo-prop flying will be a challenge...it's not flying the plane which is the challenge, it's the lifestyle afforded by the paycheck which is the challenge."Severe deficiency" relative to what?
Easy there, Chief. Read my previous post. The thread is about piedmont, not everyone else. And consequently, I think everyone elses first year pay sucks too. You gonna defend that pay? Didn't think so. And I won't defend it either. How do you figure? Our first year pay is as good as anyones!!!!
Its our Second year pay that sucks!
Do some research before you type stuff you Noob!

Again...go pop a beer and settle down there. My point? This offer is an insult to our intelligence.Hmmm, okay... Piedmont Pilots make more than almost all the other regionals in first year pay!!! SO what is your point!!!
And what was the point of your "argument"? Aside from agreeing with me...?We all know it sucks....

Whatever dude. I guess you're the pilot that rides the short bus in to work. Don't forget your safety helmet.Read your quote again!!! I think its you that doesn't understand what the hell you wrote!!

Good comeback there, Sport. Are we in third grade? If I had to guess, I'd say you're drunk. Either way, I'll forgive you because you made the simple mistake of thinking you were right.Don't forget to fukin do some research before you run your mouth!!! lol
Thank God this is over!! I think its you that are the 'helmet'!
so...you are 22,,, and a JET pilot?? WOW!!
Hey guys, (new 121 wanabees)
Cut your teeth on PDT, then after 3months send out resumes to SKW and RAH. Bail as soon as possible. I stayed at that crapfest for 1.5 years, thats .8 years to long. So yea take the $ and run. It was by far the worst run company I have ever seen in my entire life. I fly jets now with APUs that ALWAYS work for more money, and hot young FAs. Like I said rub one off at PDT then bail and dont call the hooker back.
end of story, next question.

But do my 'research' ?!? Are you kidding me??? The question is: With $30k/yr living in LGA...what's your second job going to be? And don't come back with that "get a room mate" BS because everyone knows room mates suck. How come I can go pack boxes for $40k/yr in a warehouse AND get 100% reimbursed for my Masters Degree AND get 25% of my base salary put away in a deferred savings plan (100% vestment in 6 yrs). And I don't need a college degree for it either. But you did your research. Why are you settling for less?
I think it's an underhanded gimmick to lure potential pilots in, much like CHQ is doing with their $2500 bonus program for those already current and qualified on the EMB. I'm only singling out Piedmont because this thread is aimed at Piedmont, I don't have a beef with any of their pilots. And it's not fair to the pilots who got hired in the classes before the airlines initiated these Bonus Cash programs.Okay.... How about not being a regional pilot! You happy!!
ASA- Atlanta
Conex- Newark
Eagle -JFK
I can go on, and on about Regional pilots that have a hard time in the big cities!! I still don't know your point about PDT!
We all pay our dues at the regionals!
You could cast yourself in Miget Porns for a second job! That might help ;-)
Thanks for the info, Doug. Again, just to clarify, my rant was not against Piedmont pilots, I think it's good you guys are making more than alot of first year jet operators. It's just part of my never ending rant against management. Good luck to you guys.other doug-
There are a lot of things wrong @ PDT. First year pay is way down on the list. Almost all of the bases are in mid to low cost of living areas. LGA is the only big exception, and the vast majority of pilots based there are commuters.

But since you bring it up, I think the mentality that "We all pay our dues at the regionals" has got to go. The regionals will become the career of many pilots who want to go to the majors. FedEx/Southwest can't hire us all.
