An airport is an airport!! As long as I can have a few beers after work, I'll be perfectly happy in places LBB. As for 25 min. turns-who cares?? I do it, and have no problem with it. Id rather that then sit in a plane for 7 hrs. Enjoy the world, Ive seen it a few times over and can gladly say that i have no ambition to see it again.

An airport is an airport, eh? Wow, that is sad. Some pilots don't only stay at airport hotels. We also have long 24 hour layovers on most INTL flights, and that allows us to do many different things, like soak up the local culture if you want, or sleep, or eat good food, or get a tan, or just relax. Oh wait, you can do that at home, right? So can I---a 3 day to Europe can be worth 22 or more hours, or I can fly 9 straight and have the rest of the month off if I choose. So, while you waste away in the Quality Inn at LBB, I will be in Vienna, or maybe Rome. And, I am soo glad you saw the world before and don't want to see it again. That is too bad. Really, it's kinda sad.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Not sad at all, I enjoy my time here in the US. Like I said before, I have no desire/ambition to see the world again, been there and done that numerous times. Besides, I eat, sleep, tan, relax perfectly fine where I am. Heck, I even get to snowboard, surf, party, etc as well. But hey, whatever makes ya happy. So enjoy wherever it is you may be, but really, I could care less:beer::p

Great. You go enjoy your job, and I will enjoy mine. I actually enjoy seeing the world on Delta's dime. When I walk up to the gate from the crew room and see "Vienna" or "Copenhagen" or "Buenos Aires"--I smile. I wish you did too, but whatever makes you happy. I also really enjoy being at home with my family, and I enjoy this board as well. Have a good one.

Wow. I'm amazed that some of the people on this board are in command of passenger jets when they demonstrate the emotional maturity of 7th graders.

General,

I wasn't in LBB, sorry. FYI we have maybe 2 planes that RON there. I haven't seen LBB in well over a year.

You seem to know a lot about Lubbock though. Do you live there or something.

As far as my overnight, I went to my room pulled my shades, opened my laptop and pretended I was you on your INT'L trip. I figured we were doing about the same thing. The only difference is I wasn't convicing myself what an awesome time I was having on my laptop typing flightinfo mumbojumbo on my Paris overnight. I even used an Eiffel Tower screen saver while I ate french fries and crepes!

Enjoy your next call from tower.........Northwest 1001 this is Detroit tower, you're cleared for takeoff.

I'll take LBB anyday over DTW!!!!

It's all in fun :)

Seriously, best of luck with your upcoming events. I don't wish the US Airways probs on anyone.

I can't believe you actually write crap like this, and I can't believe I actually took 15 seconds out of my day to read it. :uzi:

I think we have 8 now, with 4 more coming this year. (and 4 the next). And hey, next time you talk to your AA buddies, tell them thanks for the 17 ex TWA 757ERs. They look great in our new paint scheme with winglets.

Bye Bye--General Lee

They looked a WHOLE lot better in TWA's final livery, IMO.

Funny, that's what the Skywest, ASA, Comair, Mesa etc. guys say about you....."Hey General, thanks for giving us all your flying. You're old routes and lost flying sure does look great in our RJ's."

I have an idea, give back more of you're pay and have Delta go buy 17 more 75's, lose even more money and tell us all how awesome it all is.

Please do us all a favor. Next time you to to Europe, Lagos or wherever, please close your laptop, stop typing while you look out the window and actually go enjoy your trip(outside and you cannot bring your laptop along). You say you already do that?? I disagree. I have 10,000 reasons backing me up.

Why do you always take this board so seriously? You always have an answer. You always are the first belittle someone or their airline. I have many guesses why. I don't know whether to laugh at you or feel bad for you.

Close your laptop. Go play golf. Go drink a beer(in public, not at home alone with your laptop) Go meet a girl or try to. If she says no, go meet a girl that will gladly take some of that sweet Delta cash you make.

It's time to go outside again. There is a real one out there that's not called the internet. Please!

The General? Belittling people? A braggart? No! Never! Well, let's ask him...

You must have written this in LBB, your brain has melted.... Enjoy flying that 737 around, multiple leg days, thru krapholes like LBB, with 25 min turns, for the rest of your life. I won't be. I enjoy my job, enjoy seeing the world on DL's dime, and enjoy the fact that I can go back to Domestic anytime I want to. Variety is the spice of life ya know..... Don't worry, tomorrow will be another day for you---this one spent in Midland, but Harlingen is on the horizon....

Bye Bye--General Lee

You betcha. How you like dem apples? Hey, I enjoy this board and have been on it for years. I don't have to explain it to you, but I guess I have wasted more time doing just that. Where can you sign up? Hey, you already are a loser, nevermind.

Yeah, guess you're right. The only thing we'll all ever agree on at FI is that the General is a world class feminine hygiene product. Wouldn't it be nice if he'd just go away?

Wow. I'm amazed that some of the people on this board are in command of passenger jets when they demonstrate the emotional maturity of 7th graders.

The General isn't in command of anything. Including his career. He's a 76ER gear bitch who sits on his computer all day and night in some of the world's greatest cities lecturing pilots less "fortunate" than him about how great he is and quoting articles that agree with his views to rub in people's faces.

But he's not a loser. Just ask him. He's a Mighty Double Breasted Delta "International " FO!!!

One note of interest, currently the 777 Captain pay at Delta is aproximately $30/hr more than the NWA 787 and $13/hr more than an NWA 747-400.

"Yes, Hughes AirWest, Top Banana in the West" http://www.hughesairwest.com/

Another note of interest is that Hughes AirWest went on to be part of Republic, AKA NWA. Their memory lives on with every DC-9-50 that keeps flying, which all of them are.

Nu

And what a bonus THAT is...

As does these:

West Coast, Pacific and Bonanza merged to form Airwest. Airwest became Hughes Airwest. Hughes Airwest merged with Republic. Republic merged with Northwest (this was the UGLY merger). Through it all the DC9's survived.

John:
I agree.....TWA's last paint scheme was one of the nicest looking in the industry, especially with that blue globe.

737

It's sad, actually. Every time I see one go by, it's like looking at a ghost. :erm:

TWA had some -50's, ex-EAL birds. I thought we traded them to NWA for the few MD-80's NWA had. Anyone know for sure?

I disagree with you, all of the DC-9-50 are not from the Republic merger (North Central Airlines). Some are Eastern Airlines birds, and I think there are a few SAS birds too.

You probably see a lot of planes go by--you fly an ATR-72.

Bye Bye--General Lee

And as usual, all The General can do is make fun of a fellow pilot because his airplane is smaller. Oh, that and cut & paste while hiding in his hotel room in AMS.

Was it a cut down or an actual fact? Probably both. And, I don't hide in my hotel room anywhere, I actually get out and get great food, and see the sights I want to see. I enjoy my layovers.

With 10,089 posts on FI, I don't see how you find time.

LOL funny     :D

General - don't knock the tupperware death tube until you fly it. Stainless steel shanked high density beer coolers with kevlar wrappers are a cool way to motivate an airplane.
