Pick Up Open Time at Colgan

Hey guys, help management out and pick up a bunch of open time. Yeah, you've worked hard. No, you haven't got many days off. No, you're not paid much. No, they don't plan on hiring enough to alleviate this problem. No, we have never been consulted on work rules. Yeah, our Q400 pay rate was dictated to us. No, management didn't consult us on that either. Yeah, management wrote a letter telling us that ALPA was going to take away our right to negotiate work rules and pay with management. Yeah, this is a great company... why not give up a few days off, work just a little harder and pick up that open time? Do it for the stock holders... I mean for... um... because it's there. Just do it. Don't think. Do it.

365 Pilots
53 Aircraft
6.88 Pilots per aircraft

Mesaba:
601 Pilots
50 Aircraft
12.02 Pilots per aircraft

But that's not management's fault. Quit asking questions and get back to work.

P.S. ALPA is a joke. I hope they get bent. It's not like they're going to solve these problems. This company is great, if it were just run better and a few members of management would just retire already!

At mesa we get double pay for open time now. Convince management to do that. Then bid line with high days off in pick some up. Many say "dont pick up OT, your just helping management make the problem continue". I say, make it double pay and make some cash. Thats sticking it to the man more then not picking it up.

Anyone know if the mesaba airplanes are more utilized than Colgan planes? It is hard to imagine they have that many more pilots with the same utilization as Colgan. I could be wrong.

ALPA is what your pilot group makes of it. If ALPA is a joke on anyone's property then its a direct reflection of that pilot group.
