Has anyone seen the Lear 35 ad on planejobs.com? A mystery company in KY wants a Captain for their Lear 35, but the catch is you MUST have a minimum of 5000 hrs PIC. Isn't that requirement a little steep just to fly the 35? I've flown one for 9 years and don't have 5000 hrs PIC. I guess in this market, they can ask for the moon. No mention of the pay or bennies, but that is probably substandard. I guess I'll take up teaching college, it pays more than most of the flying gigs I've found.

I saw that ad also. That is total PIC, not Lear PIC. It sounds like an insurance requirement. If you are close I'd send them a resume anyway. Because they can put you on the insurance by name.

Many companies do that. Have outragous insurance requirements, then put the people they like on the insurance by name. It cuts their insurance premiums and it also allows them to turn down people they don't want working for them.
