I was just at recurrent and due to the holidays, I decided to drive in order to maximize my time with my family. My route home took me through Dayton, OH so I decided to stop off for about an hour and pay homage to a few legends. There was an old thread dealing with F-4s and F-105s, I thought this would fit into it, however the thread has fallen away. Without further adeu:

General Robin Olds F-4 Phantom (He shot down 2 Migs with this exact aircraft)

Sorry, I don't have any other photos. It was 4:30 and the museum closed at 5:00. I didn't have much time as I had about a 8 hour drive ahead of me and I was basically on a mission to view these particular aircraft. I would highly recommend visiting this museum and I would say if you are a person who views every detail and takes their time, plan on a few days.

I took Robin Olds to that Museum for his last visit with Scat before he passed away...the visit is certainly one for the books. He lived most of that history and was a great impromptu tour guide!

I went there 4th of July two years ago... When the "we close in one hour" message went off, I thought "they must close ealry on the holiday..." In fact, it was almost closing time. I have watched one movie, gone through most of the wings of the museum, but thought it must be around 1pm.... The day raced by unlike any other museum I have visited, to include the Smithsonian. It is an awesome place!

I know what you mean, I could spend hours and days just sitting quietly and look at each and every detail.
