If anyone is interested in a PFT check out the one I found...

-Fishing Lodge in Canada seeking pilots for 05' season.
-$8,000 training cost + room and board
-20 hours in 172/206 to be promised for "time building" over 10 weeks
-Other duties include cleaning dishes, landscape, and general maitenance
- And last but not least, it is a non paying position! The 20 hours is your compensation~

I dont know where people get off offering these "opportunities"... I found this one through a college buddy of mine. Might as well go to Jack Browns and actually get a rating, but seriously, if your interested PM me and I will give you the info.hahaha

uhm... i could take those $8000, go to my local FBO and get 90 hours in a 172 ..... while they don't have a 206, it can't be that much more expensive - say 150$ hour? ... so thats ~50 hours. (Did i mention the multi at my FBO is only 140$ an hour?)

and they are only offering a total of what, 20 hours?????

m'kay - where do i sign?

lol....thats $400 an hour. Plus they make money on you with the room and board.

I could imagine that 8000 being a typ0 (pun intended) and perhaps it should only mean 800. ?

Still... never!!!!!!!!!

edit: 800 sounds about right...5 hours in training = 160$/hr

yea but at your FBO will they let you do the dishes, landscaping and general maintenance?

you know its almost worth it.. i would hold out tho until they let me cook the food and do maid service too. i would prolly demand to be a fishing gear caddy along with that.. 8k is a lot and i want the most for my money!

seems like it's poorly worded and what they really mean is 20 hours a week for 10 weeks... which is 40$ an hour. Can anyone confirm otherwise?

still sort of funny since I can get 160 hours in a 152 for 8000$ and not have to do any dishes :)

yea..but who's gonna hire you without a few hundred hours of "dishes" time?

you know, plastic dishes time is ok.. but glass and ceramics are where its at! most employers want to see you with some quality time on glass.

i can only get 154 hours in a 152 for $8000.... ;) where do you rent from? :)

Wouldn't you think though that your dish turbine (dishwasher) time would be considered more useful to moving up into that part 121 (restaurant) position though?

Sorry mate.. got ya beat :)

thats $50/hr but ya gotta add tax. :) I get it at $48/hr without tax ;)

I love pissing contests :D

48$ an hour is pretty good. We don't pay tax either though, where did you get that?

It used to be 45$ for a152 and 59$ for our 172 but our 182 had a gear up and the rates had to go up :(

good price for your Duchess.

Our 172 is a 180hp penn yan STC with long range tanks and full IFR at 65$ an hour. Cheapest you could get that for around here anywhere else is something like 90$ an hour.
