More? PFT...maybe.
While sitting at Smyrna Air Center, fresh from a trip to Bob's BBQ (run away from that place...and don't look back. Man was it awful. ANY FBO that recommends a terrible restaurant is a bad FBO...not to mention the fact that there were no crew cars and the place was run down) I was flipping through AOPA Flight Training and saw an ad for TAB Express Airlines.

The ad is as follows:
DEPARTING SOON AT GATE 1...

TAB Express AIrline is seeking individuals to train as FO's for our new Florida airline. No exp. or flight time required. Looking for trainees between the ages of 20 and 50 with 20/20 corrected vision, and who are able to spend 7-11 months training full-time. Tranees will have to pas a 10-year FAA background check and a 1st class medical exam. Financing is available for all training costs for those who qualify.

...WILL IT BE YOU?

"Job guaranteed upon completion of training (yes is says this)."

Ok, this sure sounds like another Gulfstream kinda thing...thoughts?

I'm well aware of PFT. What I wasn't aware of was that TAB was starting up their own airline, Gulfstream style...

PFT - its everywhere!

Anyone ever thought that Delta Connection Academy (Comair) or Pan Am are PFT even more so than these other places? Don't want to go to one of those schools - go corporate - oh wait, there is PFT there too! It's everywhere!

I thought TAB Express went bankrupt... didn't the guy take the money and run?

This is old and has been beat to death.

Does paying $15K for a type rating to avoid paying $25K for a household move count as PFT?

You may be thinking of ATA (not the airline) - Airline Training Academy which was based at Orlando (ORL). Closure to this problem appears to be a long way off. "Nice" thing about Florida, you can declare BK and they can't touch your home. Hence, OJ is now a resident.

TAB Express is/was located in Deland, FL.

and you know, there are at least three people reading this, and thinking, "hmm, I can do this"

Finally something for me an Vlad to agree on. The PFT topic can't be beaten often enough. Knock it down, kill it, beat it, beat it some more, stop for a breath and go back to beating it.
