If you wanna see it for yourself, go to www.findapilot.com and go down to Part 135/Part 121 Job listings. It's about the fifth listing or so, just one or two under Cape Air. Their advertisement starts off with (for a Saab 340 position):

"We are looking for two captains who are ready to start at a moments notice. Pay will be very attractive and worth paying for your own training."

Also note, "Pilot Pays for Type/Indoc Unpaid"

If pay is so attractive... well, you get the idea...

Hey, I'm rated and current in the SF340! I wonder if they would still want me to pay?


Check out the listing under Corporate. Someone is looking to hire a "C-421 Captain". $24,000 a year and look at all the other duties you have besides flying the plane. Can't the 421 First Officer do all that stuff? Looks like a dream job to me!

That ad appears every couple of months(the Saab 340 one). Pretty pathetic, IMO. Though, I figured it meant if you had your Saab 340 type, you wouldn't have to pay anything....but pretty sh!tty anyways, if you ask me. A company like that isn't worth working for.
