Unfortunately, he has been managing my retirement and investment funds for many years and, over that time, also providing a lot of free advice about investment vehicles that I did NOT have with his company (such as the kid's 529 etc...) So, this is a matter of ending our business relationship --- IF, indeed, it is a risk to place that money with a new, small, company vs. a bigger one like Fidelity, Merrill Lynch, AG Edwards, etc.
 
I sold my truck and bought a $2800.00 beater (great car). I have ripped up the CC and have sworn off using credit to purchase anything. In a few short months I should be totally debt free except for my mortgage.

It feels good, in fact it feels great!
