It's not worth the trouble and if you're blowing a .01, you're too drunk in my opinion. Don't even be hung over; it's not fair to your pax.

atrdriver said:I don't drink much, which may be one of my problems, but I decided a long time ago to NEVER drink within 24 hours of when I need to report for work. That includes never drinkning on an overnight. That may be going overboard, but I don't want there to ever be a doubt.

 <---- oh look, beer
Stifler's Mom said:If you are hungover (result of alcohol), then yes, you are under the influence of alcohol....don't go to work.
veneratio said:So the FAA says you can’t be an active crew member if these apply to you:
1. Within 8 hours after the consumption of any alcoholic beverage
2. Under the influence of alcohol
3. .04 BAC
Here is an example,
My show time is 0700 local the next morning, I go out with the crew and pound 10 12oz beers. At 1859 I finish drinking my last beer. So I satisfied rule #1, I stopped more than 8 hours prior to show time. My BAC is 0.015, so I satisfied rule #3 since it’s below .04 BAC. However, I feel like vomiting, I feel dizzy, and totally out of it. I have a hard time concentrating and am experiencing a horrible hangover. Did I satisfy rule #2??? Am I under the influence, is a bad hangover considered under the influence???
