When does Per Diem usually start to accrue on a trip? The contract doesn't go into detail about it. If your on reserve in domicile, you don't get jack. If you take out of base reserve do you accrue it? And if so, is it 24 hour per diem, or is it only accrued during your contact periods?

Matt.

At my company it begins at show time and ends 15 minutes after Block-In when we are back at our home base. Some companies it ends 30 minutes after Block-In.

I'm pretty sure its the same with us. During training we got 24 hour (kinda sad that my per diem check was bigger then my pay check) If you have an international overnight you get an extra 5 bucks per day.

If you have a hot reserve you collect per diem too. Sucks though if you get an out and back because it is taxable. Not quite sure as to why.

If you mean by out of base reserve sitting reserve in another domicile, then yes, the per diem begins when you show for your DH flight to the other domicile or base, and ends when you get back to your own domicile.
