Hey All. Just wanted to see what everyone else gets as far as a per diem on the road? At my company we get $1.50 per hour to eat on when we are on the road and I'm thinking about asking for a higher amount from my boss but I wanted to see what everyone else gets. Any info I can get from others out there will be appreciated.

This was about a year and a half ago:

breakfast $8
lunch $12
dinner $16
all depending on what time frame you're gone (i.e. 10 am departure means no breakfast money)
and higher rates for specific expensive towns on a company list (New York, Boston, etc.)

And, overnight lodgings were on the company card, not part of the per diem.

Per Diem

At my gig we get 3.75 an hour up to 14 hours a day. You also get the time when your sitting in your hotel room on the road. I guess it sounds like I have it lucky:D I guess some regionals get 1.15 and only go on block time. Curious to see what everyone else has to say

Runnin' cargo...........a flat rate of $150 a week.

FD75:cool:

our company pasy 1.50 per hour away from home base. Its 36 a day. We never spend all of it, so its probibly an extra 400-500 a month on payday

per diem

mmmm.... i guess i shd be lucky to get $2/ hr. from duty time starts til i get back to base.. we just started, so we'll see how this all works out...

Where I work we get $15 a day. Period. It's tough when they send me out for two weeks. I always try to tak them into getting me a room with a kitchenette. That helps.

Let's see if anyone gets lower than I do.

At the old charter company I worked for we got $50 per day for food and if we overnighted $175 for hotel/car, etc in addition to the $50 for food.

Sounds much better than it really was, sure you made a ton overnighting in Hebbronville, but all it takes is one Aspen overnight to be wiped out!

Where I used to fly it was $50/day for food. Cars and tips were expensed on top of that.

$1.80/hr for as long as you're away from home base (as soon as you go wheels up until you touchdown back at home). That goes to $2.80/hr for overnights, international, FSI, and holidays. Aspen is cool but you're going to lose money and wonder where it went (all I bought was dinner and a beer!).

27 bucks a day, flat rate. Since I never RON, I just pack a bowl of cereal and a bannana for breakfast, a couple of apples for a snack and some good frozen left overs like chilli or soup for supper. Some times I'll save a few brats from the grill and take those instead or pack some sandwiches.

I used to work for a Part 121 ad-hoc freight operator that paid NO PER DIEM whatsoever.

I got worked up about that every time I had to RON someplace. Even a few bucks a day would have been OK. In fact, I'm getting pissed just reminiscing about it right now.

What a slap in the face!

$2.50/hr starting an hour before departure until half an hour after returning to home base, with a cap of $38.00 per day. Getting a rental car is like pulling teeth around here, so it really sucks when the only place to grab some eats near your hotel is a steak house.

I am so lucky not to get 1.50 $duty hour

wow, 1.50$ that is horrible!

I think it is insult for pilots!

if you work 10 hours duty you make 15$

cant even get breakfest in IHOP with that money!

Pilots need to ask more, and stop flying for free!

At my company, we don't get a per diem per say, but we have a limit placed on what we can charge for expenses. Our company employee manual states $45 per day for food, but I have gone over that on occasion with no mention made. Of course, I've gone under that as well, so it seems to be an even wash at the end.

Better than nothing!

its varied but the last job was:

$1.00/hr every hour away from base
3 hour freight delay (not your fault) = crew meal
.05 cents a mile (statute and straight line)
wheels up w/in 1 hour of page out = $25.00 Capt/$15.00 FO
back hauls 500nm+ = free meal
