Peoria Illinois

I'm considering moving to Peoria, Illinois. Now, I've never even been to Illinois, but Peoria has a reputation for being a very boring town. The reason why I'm posting is to get your opinion on what it's like for a 21 year old male living in Peoria. Are the girls in Illinois pretty hot? (I'm from Tucson, there's plently of nice looking chicas around here) Is there stuff to do in Peoria? I know it's only a couple hours from Chicago, I guess that would be a plus. Are there other towns in Illinois not too far from Peoria that I might enjoy more? Everybody's thoughts and opinions are solicited, and I appreciate your time.

You can try Champaign, it's a pretty cool town. Lots of hot college chicks around!

Reading "FlyChicaga's" away messages on some friday and saturday nights have even made me think about the party life in Champaign on those nights.

I grew up in Champaign. Its kind of an up and coming town, lots of high tech people moving in and the night life dosen't only center on the university. My parents now live in Peoria. Its bigger, but very blue collar. If your going to live in Illinois, Chicago is the place. Every thing else is farm land.

But like someone once said to me, as long as a place as bars, it'll do.

Dude.... Tuscon, AZ to Peoria, IL????? Why? I hope it's for a flying job! Just kidding. I've only spent time around the port there, not really around town so I can't really help out too much in that area. The concentration of hot chicks is definetely going to be better out in Tuscon than it will be in Peoria. Not that there aren't any there... just not as many. Peoria shouldn't be that bad, I've lived in alot smaller towns. Make sure you check out Big Al's downtown!

I bought my plane from Peoria Very cheap rental planes , flight instruction and brand new hangars with electric real cheap hangar space At Kctk as well as fuel Check out TWL aviation very nice people and very honest They have cheap homes , rentals and food but no starbucks Good fishing and hunting too Good luck ! Ok, here is what Peoria has: A casino.

Enjoy your stay. It's only 1.3 hrs to champaign from there. But you are only 45 minutes from Bloomington/Normal which is where Illinois State University is at. Girls are of a lower quality but it is closer to home...you pick!

Oh yeah...you can go COW TIPPIN'! And also, the midwest weather sucks. The humidity is the worst and the seasons never just change, you spend several weeks in limbo where sometimes it's one season and other times it's another season. Other than that, you'll get some nice IMC time out here.

I should put up an away message right now about seeing a couple topless girls in a hot tub in front of a fraternity on my way home today. Yes, that was at 4:00 PM. I'm curious what will happen when I work tonight... I'm sure it will be a doozy!!!

Of all the "unique" ones that I have seen I think it is fair to say yours puts the "icing on the cake"

Midwest weather?: As Mark Twain said, If you don't like the weather...wait a minute.

- Theres 4 seasons. cold, hot, hot, construction.
- Thunderstorms can sometimes be bigger than you've ever seen before. but at least youre not in Tornado Alley.
- Farm Girls, yes the most common girl will be a farm girl or someone associated or descended from a farm. They come in two varieties. So hot that if you touch her, then daddys gonna shoot you dead. OR you'll have to bag it like lunch.
- It's Bud or Bud Light. Order a Coors and people look at you funny...and the recods scratches and the music stops. Being so close to AB theres a little brand loyalty.
- Get used to green pastures and cattle but usually more bean fields than anything.
- Oh yeah. I hope you like dirt track small oval racing. Thats the only kind until they arrive at Gateway. Anyway go there for the fights after the races. I don't have anything against them but you find the dirtiest of the dirty people there.

To really have any fun out that way you need to have a town of a really decent population size. Anything less and the QOL severely suffers. Really like Fishing? no problem. you're set.

I'm glad i'm not in the midwest anymore but at the same time I miss it. I grew up there. The humidity ain't so bad. It's only 90+% all the time.

PIA's got some stuff going on, as mentioned earlier its the home of World Famous Big Al's, cheap cover, nice ladies, nice place too, not like most the other central ill strip clubs that have cement floors and plywood walls. Bradley U is in down, plenty of college chics there too, downtown has quite a few bars and clubs. The waterfront has alot of newly developed restraunts and bars too. The madison theatre gets lots of big bands and peoria has its own hockey team the riverman and a baseball team the chiefs (new stadium just built downtown). You are only 1 hour from bloomington, plenty of bars and clubs, 2 universities, ISU and Illinois Wesleyn.

Down side? lots of corn in between all the stuff mentioned above.
