Would love to know your source, but the rumor around the barn is only one more Saab this spring, for a grand total of 7...
However, there is another rumor floating that PenAir will have a ground school for Caravan, Metro and SF34 SIC's this spring. Unfortunately, most of those individuals will be in house upgrades, with exception to the Caravan, then again this is only rumor
Never hurts to send a resume, and with over 16K hours (bush time I assume) you may be of interest.
Pay is by the flight hour for Caravan F/O's with a 4 hour guarantee.
Metro and Saab F/O's start out at $10/flight hour plus a $1,000 /mo salary. Pilots with less than 750 hours will be placed in the Caravan and pilots with more than 750hrs will fly the Saab or Metro.
Expect to fly 70-120hrs per month. Left seat upgrade depends on too many variables to list here, expect to move out of the right seat in 3 to 5 years. Turn over is generally reserved for the right seat, as the Captains are pretty fat and mostly happy. All in all not a bad place to live er, I mean work.
The pay is pretty decent compared with what you could earn in the lower 48 but, you will earn every penny. PenAir is one of two 121 carriers that can fly their flight crews under 135 flight and duty rules, make that Alaska 135 flight and duty rules ( yes there is a difference).
Good luck with your job search.
