To my Brothers and Sisters at ALG,

Guess we're havig a New Hire Class of 10 to 15 on November 10th. They want, and the pilot group wants, ALG furloughed Dash drivers.

We're losing planes a leases expire also, BUT we don't lose anymore DHC-8's till 2006 so it could be a good filler job while pursuing a job with an airline that has a future!

Peace

I talked to one of our chief pilots today and he said for any Allegheny Furloughed to call Rosedale and they'll get you intouch with PDT, if PDT hasn't called you already.

For once a glimmer of hope (if you call it that) in a sea of $hit. Wonder if I can reserve a place for mid 2004 when I get furloughed?

For what it's worth! Better to have a job, while looking for another one!!! I welcome the ALG people.......

Thanks to the PDT guys& girls as one of the ALG guys who is looking for work this helps alot. Got the call today for an interview I can't thank you PDT folks enough.:D  :D :D :D :D :D :D

An interview, thats bull$hit, you should be in class no questions asked.

True Dat!!!! Just another attempt to keep the man down!!!

Shizzle my nizzle

Whith the liquidation of Midways, will both PDT & ALG get more flying? If so, maybe there won't be anymore furlouges at ALG and actually open up some slots for new hires? Any insight?

From the CP update today it sounds like we'll get some flying or cover someone elses flying untill there are enough RJ's to cover it all. So maybe a few delayed furloughs but I highly doubt any new hiring, EVER.

Sorry bro, its a sad state, almost 5 years ago I came here with the attitude that I'd retire an Allegheny Pilot after 36 years, it just dosen't look like that anymore.

Maybe you should call Bob Trout (I think thats how you spell it), the CP at PDT and plead your case, they may just hire you.

Good Luck

Bob Trout is the recruiter, and from what I remember the interview did seem like just a formality (I mean it was a very good experience)

CP is or was Dave Gannon.

Sorry for being happy about getting a chance to get back in the air,
when I talked to Bob at PDT he said that there would be no testing just a get to know you thing. Lear I feel your pain I got hired at ALG in 99 and was very happy I left when things hit the fan in 2002 for bigger and better but it did not work out for me. If not for KR bringing me back to ALG I would be selling insurance or something. I know what it is like to move backward and what it is like to sink alot of time and effort into a job only to have it bakfire though no fault of your own. I have been without a flying job and I wasn't happy about it . So if PDT wants to give me a chance to interview there I will be excited about going back to work if it is OK with you

PDT new hire class

Kudos to PDT crews, looks like things will work out, now if you can only get rid of JL and get back FLA life will be good again.

I used to be based in JAX, those were the good ole days.

Lots of good people there, too bad things got all screwed up.

I laugh every time I go through PNS and see the 2 1900's sitting at the gate. I'm not sure if they both go to TPA or not, but if they do, thats a bunch BS. Two crews what one crew did in the past.

I heard the reason why PDT is having a new hire class is because they are loosing 4 pilots a week on the average. Is this true?

Yup.

Still loosing aircraft. Looks like we keep what we have after the new year untill I believe 2006.

Spartus

Sorry to hear that. I was there for 2 years. I am not at Comair. I hope the best for you guys.

Lear I am sorry, you were right that is bull**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**! I interviewed today and was told after waiting 40 minutes in the lobby that they will not be hiring me.

Fra8mstr,
PM me with your name so I know who I am talking to and I will tell you that way so I don't start a flame that goes out of control I will only say I am pretty disapointed by the way I have been treated.

Dashboy, getting treated badly during the interview would have been the tip of the iceberg on being treated badly at PDT. PDT has an awful mgmt team an no true leaders. Hell, their headquarters are in a 50 year old hanger with cubicles. The leaders they do have are ex-military yes-man line-dogs who know nothing abut mgmt or leadership or occupational leadership. The training dept is atrocious, two senior instructors just quit the company, and dealing with scheduling and their constant persistant abuses will ruin your desire to be any type of airline pilot. The company destroys the contract - because they can. To the others out there, do yourself a favor and choose another airline if you have that choice. If jets dont arrive, you will never upgrade. Jets most likely wont arrive. Some pilots and most of the Union leadership believe the jets are on the way down from Canada right now. Not quite. Somebody has to fly little **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**-ball legs that CCair and others used to do, PDT.
