I am going to LGA in February and I will be needing a crashpad. I was just wondering if anybody had any info on crashpads in the area that do not require a car.

There are many crash pads within walking distance. Just go to the LGA crew room and there are usually several ads posted on the bulletin boards. I'm not based in LGA, so I can't personally help you out, but ask around. Most cost in the vicinity of $200 - $300 a month.

I am sorry to jump in with a random question but does piedmont/allegheny have a big base in Laguardia?

Yes, it was a ALG base! Now with ALG and PDT becoming one company, LGA will remain a crew base.

it was a fairly large base (not as big as syracuse was though) but with attrition its pretty small now, only 7 lines of flying for this month...who knows after the transition training how big it could be...

as for crashpads, theres a number of them that you can walk or bus to, all are as whitestone said 200-300 depending on amenities and how many people are in them (i've heard of pads with in excess of 30 people in it  yikes)
