I'm looking at purchasing a PDA cell phone from Sprint. Does anyone have any pros or cons on the different models? I know Sprint's selection is quite limited, but Ebay has quite a few offered for a semi-reasonable price.

I have the i500 and it is great. All the reviews scattered around the net are accurate. And it isn't huge!

I just bought a Treo 650 off of Ebay (for the Sprint network). Works great - I no longer need to carry a laptop on trips.

If you get one from Ebay make sure it will be compatible with your network. You can "unlock" the Treo to make it work on any network, but I don't know if that's possible with other phones.

The 650 has a great screen and good battery life. I wouldn't pay any more than the low $300 range for one, though.

Look for the new Motorola Q series early next year. Its the pda version of their razor phone. It should be pretty nice but will probably be pricy.

Also on the Treo, you can download a "Hack" to enable the wifi card to make it truly wireless. Read....so when you are overseas, you just go to a hot spot (Starbucks) and call home throught the wifi via a internet tele service (skype).

How is the overall size? I'm looking for something I can still carry on my belt, but not feel like I'm carrying a desktop on my hip.

How is the Palm software as far as syncing with MS Outlook? I haven't used any Palm-based devices since the original Pilot series with their primative "wireless" service several years ago. I like the Windows Pocket PC devices, but I don't want to spend $600 on a phone for it.

What about the Blackberry? Is it comparable?

I have a Treo 650, and I'm really happy with it. It's not too heavy, not too big and the Email is great. I use the stock VersaMail program, and I can access all of my Pop3 accounts (I have 5 that I use daily). Can't beat that!

Is anyone using a pocket PC phone, and if so how do you like it?

I currently have an older Samsung i700 pocket PC/phone over the Verizon network. I have been really happy with the phone, and will certainly be looking to get another, better one, when my contract comes up for renewal. I am kinda pissed at Verizon for locking out the wifi capabilities, but from their point of view, I can understand why. I did end up buying the unlimited express network service from then for an additional $45 a month, and it works great.

Overall, I am happy with it, even if some people think it is a bit of a boat anchor.
