We just came off a 4 day layover in PBI which, although the weather was rather cold, ended being one of our best. I thought I'd pass on a few highlights should you end up there.

FBO - Jet Aviation: been using them for years. They are first rate. Then have an Enterprise Rent-A-Car desk in the FBO.

Hotel - Hilton Singer Island: stayed there many times. Nice and well located. Great rate through Jet Aviation with free b-fast and internet.

Dinners - Fish Shack and Food Shack, both in Juno Beach were great suggestions by the dive shop (see below). Lines to get in both, but well worth the wait. Unbelievable seafood at both. Carmines on PGA, good Italian with a lot of Palm Beach plastic dining with their uncles. Next door, Angry Moon is a terrific cigar bar with 200 Scotches.

Diving - we did 5 dives with The Scuba Club about 5 minutes south of the Hilton. One of the best dive shops. We did our advanced open water with Ernie who could not have been a better instructor. The shop has been around forever and they are top notch. We get to PBI often and never thought of diving. Prices are right and it's well worth it. Lots to see and good vis. Boat trip to dive locations are about 20 minutes.

Enjoy

Nice write up, thank you for taking the time.

Good post, I have a five day trip down there starting Friday the 13th. Not sure what we are going to do but thanks for the post

A couple of other things are a dog track, casino, nitelife in Climates st, and they have an opra house as well, and jagmagic, it will be a drive but the Miami Boat Show starts next week.

Great write up,

I live two miles from the Angry Moon cigar bar, and had no idea it was there. Looked in this afternoon and looks awesome. Thanks.

I'll vouch for all the other places too, especially the "Food Shack". Carmine's also has a seafood place and sushi bar across the street from their Italian market and food place. Another great place for drinks for you igloo dwellars is on the Jupiter inlet. it's an outdoor sand/palm place called "The Square Grouper" http://www.squaregrouper.net/index.htm

If you want to know what it looks like, watch Alan Jackson's video " Five O'clock Somewhere. They filmed it there. After a few drinks, the girls will look as good as the ones in the video :pimp: Although with all the $$$ living nearby, you usually see better "talent" too. Good place for checking out the work of our local "Cleavage Engineers/Artisans"
About 10 minutes south at the PGA Blvd bridge is "The Rum Bar". It's a kinda of a knock off of the Square Grouper, but still a good place. It's next to Panama Hatties and across from the Waterway Restaraunts. http://www.panama-hatties.com/retail.html
Head west on PGA and there are a few developments east and west of I-95. In Downtown Gardens there's a Yard House for all your beer needs. Heading west, there are more restaraunts (Spoto's Oyster Bar, a cigar joint, and a few other upper end food joints.)
Spring training (FL/STL) is 5 minutes north of PGA, and laid back minor league action in the summer. It's a great little stadium as well as a sports and Irish bar nearby.
On the south end of Singer Island and on the Palm Beach inlet is Sailfish Marina. Ok food, but the atmosphere is great. Hit it at high tide and the gulfstream water is Caribbean clear with tons of fish. Across the water is a decent bar at the Riviera Beach marina. Usually has a band, and is more laid back and local. Safe place there ,but don't walk anywhere outside the marina area unless you want a Boyz-N-Hood reality experience.

Enjoy

P.S. Google the term "Square Grouper" before asking a drunk local

Don't go to Wet Willie's. Don't drink two or three "Call-a-Cab's". And, whatever you do, don't go to the Blue Martini for several pitchers after that...:puke:

:D

TC

P.S.--Jet set us up with free golf at a nice course out west.

Jet Aviation will set you up with free golf. Call ahead and ask for it from one of the customer service ladys. It is a cool place out West Ocachobee. ALOT of water. Signature will also set you up...at least a couple of years ago. Love PBI, except Sundays in the winter. Like Ohare trying to get out of there!!

Yeah the free golf is nice, I used to call Boca Aviation even when I was staying in PBI and they would hook us up with a round.
