Ok, there are several sites out there with payrates for the regionals but there's a large difference between payrates and pay checks. The raging debate here at ASA is do we really cost more than SkyWest, and if not, why can't we get a contract to save our life?

So, I created a quick survey at http://asacrew.com/store/payrate.php

I'm looking for your sample monthly paycheck (if it's 2 checks per month, combine them) with gross amount, hours flown, hourly rate, etc. It will only take about 2 minutes to fill out if you've got a pay stub handy.

I've got most of the regionals in there, if I missed one, PM me and I'll add it.

After I start getting some data, I'll post a searchable results page for each regional by seat aircraft, seat position and longevity.

You made that thing way to complicated. Make it so it can be filled out in 25 seconds.

Make it where you enter your W2 info for the year. That way you can get a more accurate picture of what a pilot brings home for the year.

I think the monthly pay, as current is probably the best way. Yearly results will be skewed by upgrades, and pay rate changes due to longevity. People should pick a random month within the last year, and add it up. It is only a couple of numbers. It really is not that complicated! If you can do a W&B, you can fill the dang thing out. The results will be interesting!

one problem I see is the month you pick to use. I could use a month where most my trips got bought out for training, I ended up getting paid for 85 hours, only flying about 20, now it looks like I make $140 an hour, when it's more like $33. but I guess that's the point of the survey, but yet that is not a typical month here.

It was hard to make it simplified because there are so many variables. So I figured I should put the things that most pilots have on their stub, total hours for pay period, overage/overblock/underblock etc and per diem, taxable and non taxable.

I'll try to simplify it tonight with the same variables. So far, I've got about 20 responses...

Where are the results, and what the hell is a W&B

I've got to get a few entries in there before I can start showing values for each airline. I figured once the 15th comes around (pay day) we might get a surge of entries. I'll get the results published in the next day or so.

It should be a live/current tally so we can see all results at any time.

That requires work...

Actually, the results are pretty interesting so far. The problem is it's php/MySQL which I'm just getting up to speed on, so I'm having to learn as I go. I'm working on a results page right now.

Keep them coming. So far I've got ASA, SkyWest, Air Wisconsin and PSA to name a few.

I think you might want to Change COEX Expressjet, Colgan, etc., or you will get innacurate info. Imagine if you put United Express........wouldn't work out so well.

Thanks, not sure how I missed that.

They may bitch, but this is a cool idea.

I know that you are doing this on your own time, but can you make a sister page that does the W2? Same type of idea, but just end of year results. This is really the bottom line. As stated above pay checks for us vary a LOT from month to month so a W2 is a better way to see the over all amount.

Yeah, I could do this. Let me get the comparison page working and I'll make another version with W2 info. Ideally what I'll get from the monthly deal is a comparison of how per diem, overage, and line values affect the paycheck. Stay tuned.

this is al well and good but how about computing your hourly rate compared to the time spent from check in to debrief. that is waht you should be looking at. i have found that typically on a day trip you spend 10 hours at an airport. thats a low figure. if you divide waht you actually make compared to the hours that you work it gets pretty pathetic. F*** per diem how about min wage when the doors are open. watch how your paycheck would increase and your time spent at work flying the same amount would come down drastically.
