All USA Jet pilots just recently got a pay raise, including first year new hires. Top of pay scale now at $173.40 per hour.

$173.40 per hour, I like the sound of that.

Ya'll hiring into the 9 right off the bat?.

Hiring into the DC-9

The only time we have hired directly into the DC-9 is when there is shortage of pilots bidding open seats on the DC-9. Trouble with those guys is they are at the bottom of their seat seniority forever. Normal starting position is DA-20 F/O at $43.86/hr.

So how many years does that take to achieve? Perhaps you should post the entire payscale (DC-9 AND DA-20) for clarity...
I thought he said in a previous post 12 years?.

I may be mistaken.

Yip,

Out of curiosity what does your interview process consist of?

Do you guys have a guarantee or is it all just however much you get called in for that month?

Time to Capt

From date of hire right now it is running like this: Start out as a DA-20 F/O $43.86/hr, 1-2 years to DC-9 F/O $59.16/hr, 2-3 years to DA-20 Capt $68.28/hr, and 4-5 years to DC-9 Capt $122.40/hr. Hourly guarantee varies with equip and seat. DA-20 pilots have 65 hour guarantee, DC-9 F/O's 55 hour and DC-9 Captains have 45 hour guarantee.

So to summarize, on an annual basis (easier to understand for most):

Guarantee pay:

DA-20 F/O: $43.86 x 65 hours x 12 months = $34,210 / year
DA-20 Capt: $68.28 x 65 hours x 12 months = $53,258 / year

DC-9 F/O: $59.16 x 55 hours x 12 months = $39,045 / year
DC-9 Capt: $122.40 x 45 hours x 12 months = $66,096 / year

DC-9 Capt (Max Guaranteed Pay): $173.40 x 45 hours x 12 months = $93,636 / year

That is base

Most pilots make anywhere from 10% to 35% over base, by picking up open time, check airman duties, and other incentives. Top guy was close to $140K last year.

Thats all good and fine, but when you posted "Top of pay scale now at $173.40 per hour" most people think in terms of "airline" hourly... and most airlines have a guarantee of around 75 hours per month... Which is 900 hours per year... and with duty rigs and flying open time, most pilots can make up the other 100 hours to roughly allow them to be paid 1,000 hours per year.... So typically most people look at an "hourly" rate and move the decimal 3 places to the right and that is approximately what those guys are making per year...

That is why I asked you to post the entire pay scale, but someone else even asked a better question, about the guarantee... Which made things that much clearer...

Clarity is key... Like Paul Harvey says... "And now, for the REST of the story..."

You started this stupid thread now deal with it.

How can you so gleefully get on here bragging about this "Pay raise" as if its so great when you KNOWINGLY leave out the real crappy details. The previous poster is right, but this is more than just a turd... its an absolute embarassment and you should be ashamed and hiding your head, keeping quiet, not on here "bragging" to you "peers" about an absolute bottom feeding "cargo" outfit that won't reward its employees from the hard sweat they put out for those dirtbag owners.

BTW - What happened to you that you ended up polishing the turds at that sh!thole outfit? A violation, a LOI, a Warning Letter, or NO BRAINS?!

Loser is all I can say.

Les Paul

( I meant the company... but hey.... if the shoe fits...)

I think it is a good deal

There is so many negative vibe on this board, I thought I would post some good news. Suddenly making a $80K - $100K per year with a solid company becomes a slam on the great people who work in a growing specialty market segment. We have an expanding passenger business, fantastic training, and the best maintenance in our sector of the business. Our hiring pool is full, our turnover is low. We have passed every FAA inspection with flying colors and set the standard on how to start up a new 121-passenger operation. With all the talk of the regionals becoming career positions our pay and life style is in keeping or even better than many of those new career positions. I thought it was good news and I was just answering questions. However, to be cool on this board you have to slam. So be cool Les. Also for Les Paul be nice, did not your mother teach you if you could not say something nice, don't say anything at all, but then again you hide who you are and are free to be anything you want.

Well.. there isnt anything wrong with earning a honest wage... no matter where you are. However there are some Legacy carrier wannabees that cant digest anything below that... more power to them is all I can say. However those who chose to go a different route may have the last laugh... peace of mind is priceless you know.

Pilotyip....."rock solid company". Maybe you haven't seen your companies financials lately? 2001- $24.786 million loss. 2002- $13,122 million loss. 2003- $8.298 loss.

Rock Solid?

Where did I say rock solid?, the company is doing well, it has managed through extremely tuff times that sent many of the companies in this sector to the chopping block. We survived where others did not. That is a solid performance. It is for you to judge for yourself, but not for other people. I am very happy here.

Application Proccess

How would one go about applying for USA JET. Website or send in resume etc. Thanks
