The safety of passangers should start and be in place prior to our pushing from he gate. There are programs in the world where proper prescreening of passangers works, and works well. Israel has had one such program in play for almost 30 years.

Any bets on how many roadblocks the ACLU will throw in front of any attempt at instituting such a program here?

Weirdest one I ever had was an agent from FEMA. This was on a flight to Pocatello, Idaho if memory serves. I think the river was cresting or something. Don't you guys just hand out checks after hurricanes? But then I guess it would be handy to be packin' when the riot broke out over clean water or dry tobacky.

I had heard that the top grads from a recent mixed basic class at a fletc were two zookeeper girls from the Washington DC zoo. Beat out the FBI, ATF, BP, BIA etc in academics and shooting.

Not sure where you heard that, Wasted. It could be true if they somehow compared scores across academies, as the FBI has its own academy and BP is out of Artesia, not Glynco (I THINK). Not to mention the fact that ATF 1811s go through CITP, not mixed basic. Not trying to knock your assertion, just wondering how they came up with such a ranking.

I think that Wasted might have been talking about someone in the BasicFederal Police Officer Course and not the Basic Criminal Investigators Course. They hve been training both courses at severl ocations for the past few years.
FBI has a uniformed division as well, charged primarly with the protection of FBI Headquaters but they might use them at larger Field Offices but I'm not sure.
I know that National Zoo has a PD, I met one of their sergents several years ago at n instructors conference.
