check out www.pfsn.us.
how many of you are members?
how many of you plan to join (strap hangers and owners)?
what do you think of this concept/product?
had to ask. if you think that this is just another bullsh*t, fee based, unicorn, for 300hr yahoos to sign up for hoping that there is an king air or hawker on the other side, feel free to say so.

Nice idea, too bad he's in it for the money. The whole thing seems a little half baked to be charging $85 per year. For instance you think he's considered the liability issue or the FAR's in what could be considered "providing pilot services." Granted it's a bit of a stretch, but I guarantee you the first time some one has an accident on one of these flights, some lawyer is going to sue him.

Take a second look! The annual fee was reduced to $55.00 for aircraft owner/operators($45.00 during start-up) and $35.00 for pilot-passengers($30.00 during start-up). One way to look at the service is that up to now there were three ways pilots could cut costs: (1) rent (2) join a club (3) fractional ownership. PFSN offers anouther option - sharing via the PFSN network.

Be careful about who logs the time. I remember reading about two guys who bought a piper apache together and flew it together- but both were logging PIC. They had a minor accident and the FAA looked at both of their logbooks and because both were logging the same time -Permanent revocation of both lic.- so how does the aircraft owner know for sure the pilot-passenger is logging the time or not?

I paid the money and here is what I have to report.(Pilot Side)

Mainly upper mid west people are in on this thing right now. He just started the site a few months back. Probably handed out flyers at local airports and got his friends to join. On average 1 new flight in the country comes on line per week. Good part, most of the flights that are listed are fairly long XC flights.

I did it because I am a CFI that is out of a job (long story, moved with wife, thought could find work in FL, no CFI jobs in FL). I thought it would be a way to keep current and log some time as several flights list that they request a flight instructor to sit in the right seat.

Great idea, just in the fledgling stage right now. I guess if you had money to jump airline flights all over the country or had JS privs then it would be great.

Permanent?!?! Are you certain about that? Heck, those America West pilots attempting to fly an airliner drunk probably won't even get that.

Maybe I read this wrong, but I'm not splitting cost with somebody just so that somebody can fly cheaper. I want to log whatever time I pay for and it doesn't look like that's what 's going on.

I know about that revocation 310 is talking about. And yes it was a REVOCATION. I can't remember the details, but I they had a minor accident. But when the inspector checked their logbooks he came down on them hard and the NTSB upheld that decision, because "it was unlikely to have ever been discovered, otherwise." All these MEI's were doing is something that gets done every day, both logging MEL PIC when they were both onboard the airplane. When I read about this deal, it appeared to me that the MEI's were there own worst enemy.

Here's a link to that decision: http://www.ntsb.gov/alj/O_n_O/docs/aviation/4008.PDF

The America West guys had emergency revocations 3 days after the incident.
