For those military pilots familiar with the game "Pass the Pigs": years ago, we used to play a drinking version of the game. Great for mixed company, in the Club, etc... Do any of y'all have the rules for that version? I can't remember them, and don't know where to look for them.
I remember playing "Pigs" but the rules escape me, probably because I was too drunk. Most guys had the pigs tucked in a flight suit pocket, ready for action at close-of-business. Wish I could help.
Gorilla,
Oddly enough, the last place I saw that had the rules posted was the Gorillas at Eglin (58 FS?). This version seems different. Some confusion on my part, like what's a "pencil"?
Now THERE'S a really odd coincidence. My screen name is the same as an Eglin unit where pigs were popular.
When I googled the pigs rules, that screen popped up, and I linked it without looking at it closely. You guys are right, there's some resemblance, but the game as played at the squadron level was pretty simple. The pig formation, after rolling, determined who would drink and how much. "Makin' Bacon", where the pigs touched, was the worst (or best, point of view I guess) requiring a full chug. The other rolls (snouter, razorback, etc) determined who in the circle would drink, and IIRC it wasn't always a full beer, it was a beer portion. The pace of the game almost guaranteed an alcoholic coma for 1 or more participants.
After enough play, a certain Marine exchange guy usually picked a fight, and we'd end up wallowing and flailing in a vast puddle of spilled beer.
Of all the "stupid fighter pilot tricks" I remember, Crud was far and away the best. And the top crud players were the Canadians up at Cold Lake, where the game was invented.
No activity was as guaranteed to cause fistfights, near fistfights, and overall hard feelings as crud.
