Get the degree first. I had to fly first and finish my degree by distance learning, and you have no idea how difficult that can be. Fly on the weekends, fly in the summer, do an accellerated course in the summer, but don't leave school until you have an accredited Bachleor's degree. Trust me, the other way to go is not fun.
 
I'll go against the grain a little...

I went and graduated first and then started instructing. My friends did the opposite. The grass was greener on their side. They had way more hours than I did and still do. The sooner you can start accumulating the hours the better. They also completed their school only a semester after me.
